The following images are just from sketchup to show my idea of my model so far. I have focused on the specific rooms mainly the large galleries, the living area and the courtyard. I have focused on creating rooms that are differently affected by light. for instance the office will be flooded from light through a side window. While the main galleries will be lit from overhead with a unique skylight. The stockroom for example is at ground level as it is a necessity compared to the workspace which overlooks the courtyard with a large scale window allowing light. The gallery sits flat on the site however, each room defines its own level/existence. I've tried to break away from the norm in designing and combining these rooms to create something interesting with straight lines which in photographic terms would draw the views eye. The intensity of light is controlled (similar to exposure of a camera) in each defined space and free flowing corridor (used to relate to the notion of a collection of photographs) the light allowed in is restricted or welcomed as it affects the mood/ambiance in each of the spaces.
